Missing Orting mother’s body found in woods

The body of an Orting mother missing for more than two weeks was found over the weekend in the woods near Kapowsin.

Nicole White, 28, was last seen June 6 leaving a Spanaway bar with a man she met through an online dating service. When she failed to return home, her mother reported her missing the next day.

The investigation led Pierce County sheriff’s detectives and FBI agents to an area near Timberline Forest Camp 1 Road East on Saturday. Search dogs found White’s body, which was wrapped in a tarp.

“We believe the body was intentionally hidden,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said Monday.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined the cause of death.

No arrests have been made.

The man White met at the bar, Jeepers Country Bar & Grill, remains a person of interest, Troyer said. That man is in the Pierce County Jail on unrelated weapons charges.

Detectives will present a case to prosecutors this week, Troyer said

Shortly after White disappeared, her Dodge Neon was found partially over an embankment near 70th and 260th avenues east near Graham.

White had two children.
