A man has been arrested for shooting another person multiple times in early September in Tacoma.

The 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday before noon in the 900 block of 85th Street East and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to a media release from the Tacoma Police Department.

He is suspected of shooting a man in the early morning of Sept. 10 in the 5200 block of South Tacoma Way. The victim was shot multiple times in the chest and died at the scene while being treated for his injuries, the release said.

A witness said the suspect, who was unidentified at the time, fled after the shooting, a previous News Tribune story reported.
