Man fatally shot in Fife has been identified by ME. He was from Snohomish
Fife police searching for a convicted felon suspected of fatally shooting a Snohomish man Saturday.
Nicholas Harju, 28, was killed from a gunshot wound to the torso near the 5300 block of Pacific Highway East. His manner of death is listed as a homicide, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fife police have identified the suspected gunman, who is wanted for investigation of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, drive-by shooting and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, Fife Police Department assistant chief of police Aaron Gardner told The News Tribune on Thursday.
Fife police said Monday that following the shooting, the suspect drove away in what was described as a white sedan before officers arrived. It is unclear what led to the shooting.
The suspected gunman is reported to be transient and frequents the Fife area along with various locations in King County. He is considered armed and dangerous and is known to carry firearms.
Court records show that the suspected gunman pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted theft in November 2021.
