Man fatally shot in Tacoma’s South End officially identified. No suspects in custody

A 44-year-old man who was killed in June in Tacoma has been officially identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Kenneth Huson of Tacoma died from multiple gunshot wounds on June 14 near the 400 block of South 55th Street. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, the medical examiner said in a news release.

Tacoma police officers were dispatched to the crime scene at about 6:30 p.m. Huson was declared deceased after lifesaving measures were administered, The News Tribune reported.

Police identified a suspect, and he was taken into custody. He was held until detectives arrived, the story said. The man was released the next day based on evidence identified over the course of the detectives’ investigation.

The case is still under investigation, and no suspects have been identified.
