Oregon man found dead in Tacoma officially identified. No arrests made, police say

A 27-year-old man who was found fatally shot in Tacoma over the weekend has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Hector Gonzalez Jimenez, of Eagle Creek, Oregon, died from a gunshot wound to the chest near the 2100 block of South C Street on Sunday. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, the medical examiner said in a news release.

Tacoma officers were dispatched at about 11 a.m. Jimenez was unresponsive when officers arrived, and they immediately began live-saving measures, according to a Tacoma Police Department news release.

Tacoma Fire personnel pronounced Jimenez dead. No arrests have been made and there is no known motive at this time, Detective William Muse said.

The case is still being actively investigated. If anyone has information about the incident, they are encouraged to call the Tacoma Police Department or send a tip to Crime Stoppers.
