Man shot to death on Halloween in Tacoma officially identified. No suspects arrested

A Seattle man killed in a shooting last week in Tacoma was officially identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ricktor Murphy, 59, died from multiple gunshot wounds on Oct. 31 near the 5600 block of South Birmingham Street. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, the Medical Examiner’s Office said in a news release.

Officers were dispatched just before midnight for a reported shooting. Tacoma Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures after Murphy suffered several gunshot wounds, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

There have been no arrests as of Tuesday. Police have not said what led up to the shooting.
