Woman killed in Milton townhome stabbing identified, ME reports

A woman who was fatally stabbed inside a Milton home near Fife last week has been identified, according the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Molly Marie Bell, 40 of Kent, died on Dec. 22 from multiple sharp-force injuries. Her manner of death was ruled a homicide, the office wrote on its public information portal.

Mi Lanique Jenkins, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing that occurred at the 24th Avenue Court Townhomes. Jenkins is being held at the Pierce County Jail on no bail after Pierce County Superior Court Judge pro tempore Garold Johnson ordered her to undergo a competency evaluation, according to court records.

Court documents show Jenkins showed up to the townhome, and a witness who lived there called Bell to pick her up. The witness told police she saw Jenkins allegedly charge at Bell with a knife.

Jenkins refused to speak with police, and documents show the motive is unclear.

A competency hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 6, records show.
