Pierce County man found dead from potential drive-by shooting identified
A Parkland man who was found dead in a vehicle earlier this month has been identified as 18-year-old Jack Bartlett.
Bartlett died from multiple gunshot wounds on March 7 in Parkland from a homicide, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office through their public portal.
Deputies were dispatched at 9:03 a.m. to the 500 block of 112th Street East and found Bartlett dead in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He reportedly died from a drive-by shooting, The News Tribune previously reported.
No arrests have been made in the homicide, and the case is still under investigation, according to Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson deputy Carly Cappetto.
Savannah Bartlett, Jack Bartlett’s oldest sister, told The News Tribune on Monday that she and her family know detectives are working hard.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help Bartlett’s family with funeral and memorial expenses. About $7,439 has been raised through the fundraiser.
Savannah Bartlett said her family has been struggling with expenses, and they have felt support through the fundraiser.
“We didn’t realize how many people we were close with that could help,” Savannah Bartlett said.
She said her brother was the third child out of six siblings and was the glue of their family.
“He was a motivated, dedicated and kind man,” Savannah Bartlett said. “He’s going to be deeply missed, especially by his younger siblings.”
