Suspect in fatal Tacoma stabbing arrested early Monday, police say

A woman was taken into custody early Monday on suspicion of second-degree murder after a man died of stab wounds Sunday evening, the Tacoma Police Department announced in a press release around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

She was booked into the Pierce County Jail. The News Tribune does not generally name suspects before they have been charged.

As previously reported by The News Tribune, Tacoma Police officers responded to a local hospital around 8:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible stabbing victim. The man died at the facility before officers arrived and officers found a crime scene in the 1200 block of South M Street, in the city’s Hilltop neighborhood.

The case remains active and anyone with information related to the case is asked to call 911. Detectives and crime scene technicians are actively investigating the incident as a homicide, according to the police department.
