Suspect arrested in Monday shooting in Tacoma, police say

The Tacoma Police Department arrested a suspect in relation to Monday’s homicide along South Tacoma Way, the department reported in a news release.

A shooting occurred at around 12:36 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of South Tacoma Way, according to the release.

Officers arrived to find an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds, the release said. Authorities transported him to the hospital, where he later died.

During the investigation, detectives found probable cause to arrest a man in relation to the case.

Tacoma detectives, along with Tacoma SWAT and Special Investigations, located and arrested the suspect Wednesday.

He was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of murder in the first degree.
