Motorcyclist dies after collision near Purdy Spit

A motorcyclist involved in a collision near the Purdy Spit earlier this month has died of his injuries, the Washington State Patrol said Friday.

James Jagger, 56, of Bremerton, initially suffered a broken pelvis and broken femur. He died Sept. 14.

The collision occured about 10:45 p.m on Sept. 11. Troopers said a 39-year-old Gig Harbor man was parked on the eastbound shoulder of state Route 302 and tried to make a U-turn in a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. He turned directly in front of Jagger, whose motorcycle struck the SUV.

Jagger was thrown from the bike.

Troopers arrested the Gig Harbor man, who was believed to be intoxicated, but criminal charges have not yet been filed.

Jagger was the head of Jagger Homes, a company that built houses in Kitsap County, and played the bass guitar, according to his obituary. He had two sons.
