Man shot dead on Tacoma’s East Side; police investigating as homicide

A 30-year-old man died Saturday morning after a shooting on Tacoma’s East Side.

The man, who police have yet to identify, was found with a gunshot wound after reports of a shooting near the intersection of East T Street and East Morton Street. The shooting was reported about 1:15 a.m., according to police.

The man was transported to Tacoma General Hospital, where he died of his injuries about 6:30 a.m., the Tacoma Police Department said.

Police are investigating the man’s death as a homicide.

As of late Saturday morning, Tacoma police said they had no further information to release about the victim or the circumstances of his death.
