Warrant issued for suspect in fatal Tacoma hit-and-run

A warrant has been issued for a man believed involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision Wednesday in Tacoma.

Daniel Bartolome Diego, 41, is charged with failure to remain at an accident resulting in death, plus a charge of third-degree theft.

The wreck happened about 8:20 p.m. at South 38th and South M streets.

Police believe Bartolome Diego, who was driving an SUV, made a left turn onto South M Street and hit a motorcyclist.

A passer-by stopped to perform CPR on the motorcyclist, later identified as 52-year-old Vincent Dombrosky. Dombrosky was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver allegedly stole the passer-by’s bicycle and rode away, leaving the badly damaged SUV behind.

Another witness saw a piece of paper fall out of the driver’s pocket as he fled, which had his name on it.

Police tracked down the SUV’s registered owner, who told officers he’d sold the vehicle to his roommate, Bartolome Diego, some time back.

Bartolome Diego has not been found.
