A woman got angry with her roommate over their messy living space and shot him dead, Florida police said.

Patricia Whitehead, 71, is charged with first-degree murder, the Tampa Police Department said in a June 14 news release.

Her attorney information is not available in Hillsborough County court records.

Police said Whitehead shared a residence in Tampa with the male victim, who police did not identify.

She told investigators she was angry with her roommate, saying “he did not clean up after himself,” police said.

The morning of June 13, her roommate slammed the door as he was leaving, she told police.

That’s when she got her gun from her bedroom, followed him out the door and shot him multiple times, investigators said.

When police arrived at around 9:30 a.m., they said they found the man with wounds to his upper body, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Whitehead was arrested and booked in jail.
