A body discovered in a storm drain has sparked a murder investigation, Hawaii police reported.

The body was found in Manoa shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, the Honolulu Police Department said in a news release.

Officers found the partly decomposed body of a woman in a storm drain, police told Hawaii News Now.

An autopsy revealed the woman had “suffered multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in an updated news release on Saturday, Sept. 14. Police reclassified the case as a murder.

An investigation is ongoing, police told KHON. No arrests have been made.

Manoa is a neighborhood in Honolulu on Oahu.
