Woman scratches $10 lottery — then shows husband prize. ‘Is this what I think it is?’
A woman spent $10 on a lottery ticket at a Washington convenience store — and the $250,000 prize left her speechless.
She stopped at a gas station in Gold Bar and went to Mountain Deli Mart nearby to get some tickets, Washington’s Lottery said in a Dec. 18 news release.
The woman bought some holiday-themed tickets and went to her car to scratch them, lottery officials said.
That’s when she realized she won $4 from one ticket, so she scratched another called It’s Gold Outside.
This time the prize was much bigger.
She had won the game’s top prize of $250,000.
“Is this what I think it is?” she asked her husband after seeing the win.
Lottery officials said the two claimed the prize the next morning.
They have plans to use the money to “reinvest in their business, pay off bills, and renovate one of their properties.”
Gold Bar is about a 45-mile drive northeast from Seattle.
