Powerball player wins big in Western Washington. See where ticket was sold

A Powerball ticket sold in Western Washington missed the jackpot but still won big, according to lottery officials.

The Powerball player matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 in the drawing on Saturday, Jan. 3, according to a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery and the national Powerball website.

Where were winning Powerball tickets sold in Washington?

The lucky Powerball ticket was purchased at Fred Meyer, 2902 164th St. SW in Lynnwood.

It takes about 25 minutes to drive from Seattle to Lynnwood, and about an hour to travel from Tacoma.

What were winning Powerball numbers?

The winning numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing were 18, 21, 40, 53 and 60 with a Powerball of 23, according to the national Powerball website.

Although no one took home the grand prize, one Powerball player in Texas matched five numbers with a Power Play add-on to win $2 million, lottery officials said.

What’s the Powerball jackpot up to now?

As of Saturday, Jan. 3, the Powerball jackpot was estimated at $86 million, with a cash value of $38.8 million.

“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” the national Powerball website said, noting that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are one in 292,201,338, according to the Washington’s Lottery website.
