Trump: His supporters are transparently close-minded

Re: “Trump is the leader of our revolt,” (TNT letter, 9/17).

As a white, middle class, blue collar worker, I admire the letter-writer’s honesty to identify himself as a member of the half of Trump supporters who are bigots, racists and homophobic. Trump has stated that he wants uneducated supporters, and the writer certainly fits the bill.

I had a career in the U.S. Air Force and flew cargo planes to the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. I see the reader “won World War II,” and I thank him for his service.

What I look for in a president is honesty, care for the less fortunate, solid plans to address our country’s problems (not “secret plans that only I can accomplish”) and respect for all peoples with whom we must work and coexist on this planet. Thus, I am supporting Hillary Clinton to be our 45th president and am voting to replace the do-nothing Republican Congress we’ve been saddled with for eight years.
