Dog bite: Animal should've been surrendered immediately

Re: “Pit bull bites 3-year-old’s face,” (TNT, 4/20).

I was appalled when I read that the owner of the dog that nearly killed a boy and disfigured his face was allowed to keep that “animal” (and I use this term loosely) until April 28.

Why in God’s name was that dog not removed right away? What is wrong with today’s authorities who make that kind of decision?

My heart goes out to the parents of that poor boy. The pain he must have suffered!
