Police killing: Marijuana played role in tragedy

Re: “Police officer’s death was sudden, savage,” (TNT, 5/14).

Reporter Sean Robinson’s article on the senseless killing of Tacoma Police Officer Reginald “Jake” Gutierrez was heart wrenching and revealing.

Just a few clues as to what could move Bruce Randall Johnson to rage on this officer were given. Regular smoking of marijuana and more smoking lately were the causes, in my opinion. I believe psychotic delusions he was experiencing from heavy marijuana smoking caused him to act.

If society accepts the carnage alcohol does to society, it must now also accept widespread marijuana dangers.
