Lindquist: Don't editorialize in news articles

In her column (TNT, 11-15), News Tribune Executive Editor Karen Peterson recognized the problem of using editorial words in news reports.

Yet in that same issue it was done in the front-page article about Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist.

Using words that subjectively describe a person, conduct or occurrence converts a news report into an editorial, in my opinion, and that is done over and over in The News Tribune in relation to Lindquist.

It is time to cut the vindictive conduct observed in your paper and just report factual information in news reports. Give up the “we’ll get him attitude.”
