How the South Sound’s top high school football recruits performed in Week 8

The South Sound is loaded with Division I-bound talent again this fall.

Here is how the area’s top 10 recruits in the 2023 class and top five recruits in the 2024 class fared in Week 8.

2023 CLASS

WR/DB Jasiah Wagoner, Spanaway Lake — Oklahoma commit did not play in Week 8. Spanaway Lake’s scheduled game was canceled.

QB Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln — Missouri commit was a perfect 9-of-9 passing for 221 yards and one touchdown, and added 18 carries for 87 yards and two scores in a 42-28 win over Lakes. Johnson has 16 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns through eight games.

OL/DL Micah Banuelos, Kennedy Catholic — USC commit played left tackle for a Lancers offense that piled up 400-plus yards and six touchdowns, and added two tackles, including a sack, on defense in a 50-7 win over Tahoma.

TE/DL Jacob Lane, Emerald Ridge — Washington commit did not play in a 35-25 loss to Graham-Kapowsin.

WR/DB Andre Jordan Jr., Federal Way — Oregon State commit had a 47-yard touchdown catch in a 48-20 win over Kentwood.

QB/DB Dorian Thomas, Kentridge — Oregon State commit, who is projected as a tight end in college, but is playing quarterback for the Chargers this season, tossed a 47-yard touchdown and rushed for a 7-yard touchdown in a 17-14 loss to Mount Rainier.

RB/LB Xe’ree Alexander, Kennedy Catholic — Arizona State commit rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown on three carries, and added three tackles, including one sack, on defense and a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 50-7 win over Tahoma.

RB/LB Leo Pulalasi, Lakes — BYU commit rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, and added five tackles in a 42-28 loss to Lincoln.

OL/DL Nathan Pritchard, Auburn Riverside — Washington State commit had three tackles, including 1/2 for a loss on defense in a 20-14 loss to Auburn Mountainview.

WR/DB David Wells, Lakes Oregon State commit hauled in four catches for 55 yards and two touchdowns, and added one tackle and one kickoff return in a 42-28 loss to Lincoln.

2024 CLASS

RB/LB Brayden Platt, Yelm — Four-star recruit did not play in a 58-14 win over Peninsula.

WR/DB Rahshawn Clark, Federal Way — Four-star recruit hauled in three catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-20 win over Kentwood.

WR/DB Malachi Durant, Puyallup — Three-star recruit hauled in six catches for 37 yards in a 13-12 loss to Bellarmine Prep.

RB/LB Unterrio Latin-Henley, Washington — Three-star recruit returned to the field after missing three games due to injury in a 35-28 win over Steilacoom.

QB Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Three-star recruit completed 12-of-23 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in a 35-25 loss to Graham-Kapowsin.
