Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (March 18 to 23)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for high school sports contests played March 18 to 23. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Kamille Kautz, Yelm softball

She went 3-for-4 with three RBI, all on a sixth-inning homer, in 10-6 win over Prairie on Wednesday.

Ava Bautista, Olympia softball — Starting pitcher struck out six across run innings in 4-2 win over Graham-Kapowsin and launched a fourth-inning home run.

Jess Eaton, Bonney Lake softball — Went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and seven RBI, including a two-run homer in the third inning in 23-0 win over Spanaway Lake.

Kamille Kautz, Yelm softball — Went 3-for-4 with three RBI, all on a sixth-inning homer, in 10-6 win over Prairie on Wednesday.

Raygun Klippert, Rogers softball — Went 2-for-3 with a walk and scored all three Rogers runs in loss to Emerald Ridge.

Kayla Ringenbach, Puyallup softball — Went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run to left left and racked up five RBI in win over Curtis on Wednesday.

Kyra Smith, Puyallup softball — Launched two home runs, going 3-for-3 at the plate, scored three runs and racked up three RBI in 19-5 win over Curtis on Wednesday.

Lillian Stariha, Emerald Ridge softball — Hit a key two-run single in the second inning to lift Emerald Ridge to a win over Rogers on Wednesday. Went 3-for-3 with the single, two doubles and a run scored.

Alanna Wirtala, Emerald Ridge softball — In two league wins, tossed 14 innings with 15 strikeouts. Also went 4-for-6 at the plate with two RBI.
