4-year-old girl reportedly safe after Amber Alert issued
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday morning for a 4-year-old Edmonds City girl believed to be with her mother, who police say is suffering from paranoid delusions. KIRO TV reported later in the morning that the girl had been found safe in Lynnwood.
Ramona McEwan picked her daughter, Bryn McEwan, up from La Petite Academy in Lynwood about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. They were last seen at McEwan’s Edmonds home.
The girl’s father called police to express concern for his daughter’s well-being.
McEwan has been suffering from escalating paranoid delusions recently and removed the SIM card from her cellphone because she believed an old neighbor was trying to hypnotize her and kill her and her children through electronic devices, authorities said.
Bryn is 3-feet-4 and 40 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt and white dress or skirt.
McEwan, 43, is 5-feet-4 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing an ankle-length dress with black and white stripes. She has a tattoo of birds on her back and flowers on her right ankle.
