‘Pretty spectacular’: Video captures orca pod near Tacoma Narrows bridges
Jamie Bisceglia was out fishing near the Tacoma Narrows bridges Friday morning when she saw something she’d never seen there before.
An orca pod was moving through the area — at least seven in all, she said.
The 43-year-old from Fox Island tried to keep her balance as she filmed the whales breaking the surface, spraying water and air.
She caught the video from her 11-foot Livingston boat as she was fishing near Point Evans, she said.
“They were very close to shore — they weren’t feeding,” she said of the orcas. “They were just moving on and just looked like they were having fun, and I was having some, too.”
Bisceglia, who says she goes fishing every morning, described the sight as “pretty spectacular.”
“I caught a couple silvers, and it was a good day,” she said.
