River Road blocked by dump truck’s trailer on its side. ‘Expect long delays’

FINAL UPDATE: The collision has been cleared and all lanes are open.

UPDATE 3:33 p.m.: Crews have now righted the truck and trailer and are working to soon open the road.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two people were injured and all southbound lanes of River Road (state Route 167) are blocked at 66th Avenue after a dump truck’s trailer rolled over on Thursday afternoon, according to Riverside Fire & Rescue.

Two people suffered minor injuries and were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, said Riverside Battalion Chief Daniel Hugo.

The dump truck hit the guardrail and a trailer it was pulling flipped on its side and blocked the two lanes. The northbound lanes are alternating between traffic going in both directions, Hugo said.

“Expect long delays in the area,” the department tweeted.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
