A 67-year-old woman who walked away from a Fircrest group home last month was found dead Sunday in a Tacoma park.

A resident in the 1800 block of South Shirley Street found Emily Esquiro’s body in some bushes in nearby China Lake Park.

Foul play is not suspected.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office said they cannot determine her cause of death, but detectives believe she died of natural causes.

Esquiro was reported missing July 6 after walking away from the Golden Acres Adult Family Home, where she moved in May from Seattle.

Police were concerned because she was easily disoriented, took medication for diabetes and had mental health issues.
