Two people shot in University Place home. A 3-year-old was also inside

A man and a woman were found with gunshot wounds inside a University Place home Monday.

Officers also found a 3-year-old girl, who was uninjured.

University Place police responded at 6 a.m. to a 911 call that the pair had been shot. The shooting occurred during an altercation at a mobile home in the 5700 block of Hanna Pierce Road, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

“When officers arrived at the scene they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a female victim suffering from two gunshots wounds in her chest,” Troyer said.

Both victims were taken to hospitals for treatment. The woman was in critical condition and the man was in stable condition, Troyer said.

Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the shooting, he said.
