Kent police investigate fatal shooting
Kent police are investigating a shooting late Friday that left one man dead.
Officials have not identified the victim, other than to say he’s an adult male, because the details may hold clues to the crime, said Kent police Cmdr. Jarod Kasner.
Officers were called to the 10800 block of Southeast 240th Street about 8:55 p.m. Friday. The victim was found outdoors, between buildings near local apartment complexes, Kasner said. No suspects have been identified, although police are talking to several people, he added.
Police don’t believe the incident was related to two shootings earlier this month at a Kent homeless camp, Kasner said. In those cases, Louisa Campos, 32, and Robert Dias, 49, died of gunshot wounds in separate shootings within less than 24 hours between Aug. 12 and 13, officials said.
