Editor’s note: He’s not just a kid from Graham. Graham-Kapowsin offensive lineman Foster Sarell is considered the top-ranked offensive line recruit in the country by multiple scouting services, and he’s used The News Tribune to journal his final summer in high school.

This is his final post as Graham-Kapowsin makes its final preparations for its 2016 season opener against South Kitsap at 7 p.m. Friday at Art Crate Field.

Hi everyone its Foster again!

It seems only fitting since this week is upon us to talk about the upcoming football season.

Summer of Sarell Diary

To start off I would like to say how awesome our coaching staff is and how thankful I am for Coach Kurle who has always gone the extra mile to help me in any way. I am forever appreciative of him as well as the rest of the coaching staff who have been amazing through the last four years of my high school football career and have taught me a lot about the nuances of football.

With saying that I think our team is poised for a great year; I’m excited about every aspect of our football team. I’m excited for Friday Nights! First of all because there is no night better than Friday and no sport better than football and I just can’t wait to run out on the field and play with the guys.

Also being my senior year, I am going to try to remind myself to not let the college decision making factor or next year’s football season in college overshadow the fact that this is my last season I will be able to play with my boys – the guys I’ve grown up playing with since I was 6 years old. So I will be trying my best to relish the moment and just embrace this season with all its ups and its downs.

Next, I’m excited for the team, I think the team I am a part of has some amazing potential to do some great things this year and we have an awesome group of guys to get the job done and I just can’t wait to see where this season takes us.

So in closing, I guess I just am so grateful for the coaches and people that I’ve had the opportunity to be around during my football career and I’m just very excited and anxious for this football season to start.

Thank you to everyone who read my summer blog, I’ve truly enjoyed it and am happy I was able to share a little piece of me with anyone who read these.
