Did you buy a winning lottery ticket in Western Washington?

More than $9 million in unclaimed lottery prizes are set to expire over the next few months, according to Washington’s Lottery.

That includes a winning Match 4 ticket sold at a Tacoma grocery store, lottery officials said in an April 16 news release.

What are unclaimed lottery prizes in Washington state?

According to Washington’s Lottery, lottery winners have yet to claim 15 large prizes valued at $10,000 or more, totaling $9.552 million/

Three of those unclaimed lottery prizes — collectively worth more than half a million dollars — will expire in the next two weeks.

Lottery prizes as big as $8.2 million can be claimed as late as mid-October.

Where was winning lottery ticket sold in Tacoma?

One winning Match 4 ticket was bought at Safeway, 1624 East 72nd St. in Tacoma, according to a Washington’s Lottery spokesperson.

The ticket matched all four winning numbers in the Friday, Oct. 24, drawing, which were 5, 7, 12 and 21.

This prize will expire on Wednesday, April 22, lottery officials said.

Which other lottery prizes expire soon?

Another lucky Match 4 ticket worth was purchased at Kalispel Market, 220 South Hayford Road in Airway Heights, according to the Washington’s Lottery spokesperson.

The winning numbers in the Nov. 1 drawing were 4, 6, 14 and 19.

The ticket’s owner has until Thursday, April 30, to claim their prize.

According to the lottery, a $617,500 Hit 5 prize is set to expire the following day — Friday, May 1.

That ticket was sold at a Conoco gas station at 302 Southwest Basin St. in Ephrata.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers in the Nov. 2 drawing: 12, 14, 19, 38 and 41.

I won the lottery. How long do I have to claim my prize?

“Winning players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize,” lottery officials said in the release.

If you bought a winning Scratch ticket, you have 180 days from the last day of ticket sales to claim your winnings, according to Washington’s Lottery.

How do I claim my lottery prize in Washington state?

According to Washington’s Lottery, if your winning lottery ticket is worth less than $600, you can claim your prize at a participating retailer.

If you won more than $600, you must claim your prize at a regional lottery office.

Regional offices in Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

According to lottery officials, you’ll need the following pieces of identification to collect your winnings:

  • The winning ticket, signed on the back
  • Photo ID
  • Social Security card

What happens if no one claims lottery winnings?

“By law, prizes that aren’t claimed are placed into a reserve account,” lottery officials said in the release.

Each June, the surplus in the reserve account is transferred to the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, which “helps college students across the state achieve their dreams and supports early childhood education programs,” the release said.
