Name of 22-year-old fatally shot in Puyallup after ‘confrontation’ has been released

A woman who died from a gunshot wound Sunday night in Puyallup has been identified.

Gianna Stone of Kingston was 22 years old. She died from a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was “homicide,” according to a release from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office Tuesday.

Stone died from her injuries around 9 p.m. at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, The News Tribune reported.

Puyallup Police investigators determined that Stone was a passenger in a black SUV when a “confrontation” happened in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue Northwest earlier that night, The News Tribune reported. Shots were fired into the vehicle.

Puyallup Police posted Tuesday on social media that there will be a neighborhood community meeting about the homicide investigation 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Puyallup Public Library.
