3 people arrested in killing of 16-year-old boy from April, Tacoma police say
Three 18-year-olds have been arrested in connection with a Tacoma shooting from April that later left a teenage boy dead.
Officers were dispatched to a local hospital on April 12 at around 10 p.m. when staff reported two people came in with gunshot wounds. Officers determined they had been shot in the 4300 block of Portland Avenue, according to the Tacoma Police Department in a news release.
The release said one man was in stable condition while the teenager’s condition was critical. The teenager, later identified as 16-year-old Marco Teran, died four days later.
The Medical Examiner’s Office reported Teran died from anoxic encephalopathy due to a gunshot wound to the chest.
Detectives developed probable cause through their investigation to arrest three men on Wednesday. They were booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of four counts of first-degree assault and first-degree murder.
