A person of interest has been identified in two Pierce County homicide cases Wednesday morning.

One killing happened in the 12500 block of Woodland Avenue East near Summit at about 2:40 a.m., The News Tribune previously reported, and the second occurred about half an hour later in the 6900 block of East D Street in Tacoma

Both victims were adult men.

Deputy Carly Cappetto, spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, told The News Tribune in a message the suspect is 24 years old, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 115 pounds. He is a Native American man, driving a silver 1995 Toyota 4 Runner with the license plate number being CWW5132.

The News Tribune asked Cappetto if a warrant has been issued for the man’s arrest.

“No, [it’s] too early for that,” Cappetto wrote in a message to the The News Tribune. “It’s a process through the courts so that will take time. There is currently Probable Cause.”

The News Tribune does not generally name suspects until they have been formally charged with a crime or an arrest warrant has been issued.

In an update to a Facebook post about the Summit murder, PCSO said both homicides “appear to be targeted” but they are not sure of the man’s motive.

The man is believed to be armed and dangerous, PCSO said.

If you see him, call 911.
