2 arrested for vehicular homicide in Tacoma crash released from jail
Two suspected drunken drivers arrested after a five-car crash in Tacoma killed a man were expected to be released from Pierce County Jail Monday.
Deputy prosecuting attorney Tim Jones said he is awaiting toxicology test results before deciding whether to charge the men, who are ages 23 and 27.
Dominic C. Bryant, 25, was a passenger in the 23-year-old’s 1991 Toyota MR2, which struck an abandoned car on the northbound shoulder of Interstate 5 near the Berkeley Avenue exit.
He died in the collision, which took place about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers said the Toyota careened back into the freeway lanes and was hit by two other cars in the middle of the road. One of those drivers was the 27-year-old, who was allegedly intoxicated.
A fifth vehicle swerved to miss debris from the wreck and struck a barrier.
Nobody else was injured.
