Man stabs friend to death while staying at vacation home with group, Missouri cops say
An Oklahoma man was arrested in Missouri after officials say he stabbed a person to death at a vacation home.
Garrett Sumter, 32, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, according to a June 22 Facebook post by the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 12:30 a.m. June 22, detectives were called to a vacation home in Noel, Missouri, for reports of a fatal stabbing, the sheriff’s office said.
A group of friends were staying at the home, according to authorities. Sumter took off after the stabbing, officials said.
Authorities searched the area and found Sumter. He was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
Officials have not released the name of the victim.
Attorney information for Sumter was not available.
Noel is about 200 miles south of Kansas City.
