Bicyclist hit, left for dead in Milton is identified
King County medical examiners have identified the bicyclist killed early Wednesday in a hit-and-run incident in Milton.
Ryan B. Joe, 29, was found dead on Meridian Avenue East (state Route 161) about 2 a.m., according to a Washington State Patrol news release.
According to the release:
Joe was riding his bike south on Meridian when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Detectives believe that he may have been knocked off his bike before being run over.
A tow truck driver going south on Meridian struck the man’s bicycle in the right-hand lane, turned around, then saw Joe in the left lane.
State Patrol detectives were able to confirm the tow truck driver did not strike Joe.
Troopers are investigating the wreck as a felony hit-and-run, and said the suspect’s vehicle likely will not show damage from a collision.
Anyone with information about Joe’s death is asked to contact State Patrol detective Vik Mauro at 425-401-7746 or victoria.mauro@wsp.wa.gov.
