A woman suspected of shooting her husband in Tacoma was found unconscious in a cemetery parking lot Thursday morning.

Police said it appeared the 59-year-old woman had taken several pills.

A passerby spotted the woman inside her Jeep Cherokee at Mountain View Cemetery and called 911.

Lakewood police responded and recognized the vehicle, which was described in a bulletin put out after Wednesday’s shooting.

She was unresponsive and taken to a hospital, where the woman is expected to recover.

Her 57-year-old husband continues to recover from two gunshot wounds.

Detectives are unsure what prompted the shooting, but believe the woman shot her husband in a shed on their property in the 2400 block of South 52nd Street.

By the time officers arrived, the woman had fled.
