New art shop in North End, juice chain closes at Tacoma Mall, other biz news

A new art gallery and gift shop is coming to Tacoma’s North End.

Houndstooth has set up shop at 2701 N. 21st St. and is set for a soft opening in mid-July, as previously reported by The News Tribune.

The gallery portion of the store will display co-owner Ryan Love’s original art, which will be for sale. The retail portion of the store will sell a range of artisan items like prints, candles, puzzles and other home goods.

Co-owner Peter Westphaelen said he expects the store to be open Wednesday to Sunday, since Love will use the space as an art studio part-time.
