Pierce County Sheriff's Department Peninsula Detachment Deputy Dan Wulick was looking over the scene of the single car rollover accident in the Wauna curves Wednesday morning on the Key Peninsula. The male driver was the only occupant in the 2008 Subaru Outback passenger car when witnesses reported he lost control, over corrected, then left the roadway and rolled once over before crashing into a tree at the bottom of a 40 foot embankment. The man was able to self-extricate himself and walk to a Fire District 16 paramedic unit before being treated and transported to an area hospital with what appear to be minor injures. No alcohol or other factors appear to be in play. Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating the scene while tow operators try to figure out how to remove the car.
